Meet Our Professional Instructors
Kevin McCloskey In addition to serving as a partner and owner of Hollywood Stage Academy, Kevin has been writing, producing, and acting since he was a child.  He received his degree in Video and Film from UC San Diego with a minor in Creative Writing. Film and Stage Credits include "Fiddler on the Roof", "Lend Me A Tenor,"  and "A View from the Bridge." Kevin is the Founder and Creative Director of Spotlight Performing Arts Academy for Youth in Westlake Village. He has starred, written and directed various short films, web-series and currently has two feature films in development.
Mirage Thrams  A partner and owner of Hollywood Stage Academy, Mirage has also been a professional comedian for the past decade. She has studied with Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade, Improv Olympic, Groundlings, and the NTC. An entertainer of Stand-up, Improv and Sketch Comedy, she is also a published playwright, authoring and co- authoring numerous plays and sketches. Mirage is a featured writer for several shows, works as a comedy coach and actress, and is often a featured character voice over artist on radio shows. Mirage also currently works as a children and adult acting coach and director.  Most recently she directed the National event Fallen Firefighters Memorial in memory of the "Granite Hotshots" in the Prescott Fire.
Mirage  has newly began publishing a weekly podcast "Just a Mirage". 
 Mirage's students have and currently work on several popular television shows, a manifold of movies and several hundreds of commercials. On stage, her perceptive pupils have graced the stages of Broadway as well as Stages throughout the country.  Her expertise developing the artist from the inside out to create not just great artists, but also great people
Mirage frequently gives back by working in areas with the melanin-ly challenged.
Although a strict vegetarian, Mirage makes a mean meatloaf. 
Mirage currently performs weekly in the Hollywood area.

Virginia Stewart- Britton A two-time Independent Music Award Nominee, Virginia holds a Masters in Music Education from USC, a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan and degree from Interlochen Arts Academy.  She teaches vocal performance technique and has an extensive background in theater, musical theater, opera, jazz and pop.
In NYC, she premiered lead roles in Off-Broadway musicals The Great Gatsby; It's A Wonderful Life and Little Women among others.   In LA,  she has sung lead operatic roles with Los Angles Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Los Angeles, Casa Italiana Opera Company, Center Stage Opera, Repertory Opera of LA, and El Dorado Opera. Additionally, she has performed as the lead vocalist in several concerts with the College of the Canyons Jazz Band, including THE THREE PIGGY BE-Bopera, a Jazz adaptation (that she wrote with the late Dirk (Stuart) Fischer) of her children’s opera THE THREE PIGGY OPERA.   She was a member of the nationally acclaimed Interlochen Arts Academy Choir and Chorale and toured extensively with that group.  She toured Scandinavia and Western Europe playing the cello as part of the Blue Lake International Youth Symphony, and in 1992 she toured Europe as a vocal soloist alongside world-renown organist Marilyn Mason for a series of recordings created for the Library of Congress. 
Virginia in lives in Valencia, where she works as a musical director for community and regional theaters, teaches chorus and strings and maintains a thriving private vocal studio.  Her company, Once Upon An Opera (http://www.OnceUponAnOpera.org), focuses on igniting a passion for classical music in kids of all ages and her operas: THREE PIGGY OPERA was nominated for a Best Children’s Song by the 2011 Independent Music Awards and is soon to be an iPad app , and her RED RIDING HOOD was nominated for Best Children’s Album by the 2012 Independent Music Awards.  Virginia’s  private students have been featured on Broadway, movies, KUSC radio, CD recordings, television broadcasts and have performed on professional stages across Los Angeles.  
She is the musical director for Santa Clarita’s Canyon Theatre Guild, DEE Studio Productions’ LITTLE MERMAID and Canyon Regional Theatre’s Les Miserables that will open this summer.   Website:  http://www.facebook.com/OUAOC

Alex Britton A native of Medellin, Colombia, Alex Britton has produced, designed, performed and directed over 300 operas over the course of 20 years.  His international studies and performances have taken him to Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belguim and Columbia.  In 2004 he was Vice President/Co-Producers and Technical Director of Chelsea Opera NY.  In 2005 with Dr. Augusto Britton and Mavis B Cordero, he launched El Dorado Opera and continues to serve as it's Artistic Director and President in Southern CA.
Alex created and produced The Sevilla Project - an El Dorado Opera proprietary concept which entails translating into Spanish the most famous operas of the standard repertoire which were set in the city of Seville, Spain in the 18th and 19th centuries.  Alex has also had an impressive operatic performance career and his leading operatic roles have included Figaro and Il Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro; Giorgio Germont in La Traviata;  
Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors;  Leporello and Don Giovanni in Don Giovanni; the Father in Hansel and Gretel; the title role in Don Pasquale; Tonio in Pagliacci;  Iago in Otello; Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana, the title role in Gianni Schicchi;  Pizzaro in Fidelio
and Count Di Luna in Il Trovatore.  He has sung leading roles with Opera Salamanca, Spain; Aspen Opera Theatre; Regina Opera, Brooklyn; Teatro de las Artes in Medellin, Colombia; Il Piccolo Teatro dell' Opera, Brooklyn; Brooklyn Academy of Music; Chelsea Opera, NY; One World Symphony, NY; Bronx Symphony,  New Jersey City University Theater;  West Bay Opera, CA; Center Stage Opera, CA.

Donna Rusch  Donna has more than 20 years experience as a professional actress and broadcaster.  She is a former TV News Anchor and Television Show Host and has been in more than 100 commercials and Industrial films. This past television season, she enjoyed playing the wife of Ken Olin in an episode of Criminal Minds on CBS and was seen as a News Anchor in the season finale of ABC’s Revenge.  She has a lead role in the award-winning short “Home From War” which was featured at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.  She has a lead role in the upcoming feature thriller “The Periphery” to be released later this year.   http://www.imdb.me/DonnaRusch

Billy Parrish  Billy is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, The National Theater Institute, the Moscow Art Theater, The Ballroom Dance Academy, and holds a bachelor in Theater from Occidental College.  He holds an advanced certificate with high recommendation from the British Society of Fight Directors and is a certified Ballroom teacher through the Dance Vision International Dance Association.  He served as assistant to the director of the National Theater Institute and has performed on stage, in film, and in television in a variety of roles and shows, as well as producing seven feature length films.  He has taught students of all ages in a wide variety of topics from Stage Combat to Acting to Voice to Ballroom.  Most recently he worked with Dancing with the Stars dancer Tony Dovolani to bring ballroom to elementary schools, and with the Ballroom Dance Channel as lead producer of their Superstars of Ballroom Dance Camp.

Danielle Arroyo  Danielle has been a competitive dancer/cheerleader since age 7, culminating in her youth cheer career as a Varsity cheerleader at Oaks Christian, a school nationally known for developing highly-recruited players. During the total of 11 years of cheer, she has choreographed multiple dances for teams as well as taught children of all ages. When she was not cheering, she was developing acting. She has performed in several productions. Her favorites include Narnia, Beauty and the Beast, and Come Home This Christmas. As she became more familiar with the stage and theater, she took on the role of assistant to the Choreographer and Assistant Director, most recently assisting in Beauty and the Beast and Angels From the Relms of Bedford Falls with Mirage Thrams. She then went on to work with Hollywood Stage Academy. Here she served as the Main Assistant Director in all areas of production for The Sound of Music and assisted in Advanced Improv. Danielle has great passion for working with children as she is able to help them achieve their goals.
Danielle is the epitome of HSA's vision, creating leaders from performers.  HSA is very proud to add her to the staff of instructors.
